Oracle has announced new generative AI capabilities that businesses can use to help with workflows.

The new suite includes tools to help workflows across finance, supply chain, HR, sales, marketing and services.

The apps are built on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and use its AI services to support specific use cases.

Among them include Insight Narratives, which helps identify anomalies and biases based on pattern recognition, Project Program Status Summary Generation, which generates executive summaries of projects for program managers, and Management Reporting Narratives to help finance professionals explain variances and trends impacting the business.

Steve Miranda, executive VP of applications development at Oracle said: “With additional embedded capabilities and an expanded extensibility framework, our customers can quickly and easily take advantage of the latest generative AI advancements to help increase productivity, reduce costs, expand insights, and improve the employee and customer experience.”

Oracle stressed that the new apps are designed to respect customers’ enterprise data, with no customer data shared with large language model providers.

Database deal with Microsoft

Oracle also announced an agreement with Microsoft to expand its database service.

The pair have agreed to expand Oracle Database@Azure to five new regions – including its debut in Europe.

The service provides options to help users migrate their Oracle databases to the cloud, where they can build cloud-native applications.

Microsoft CVP Azure Infrastructure Product and Design Erin Chapple said the collaboration expansion will empower business innovation by helping customers streamline the migration of workloads to the cloud.
