Run:ai software helps enterprise customers manage and optimize their compute infrastructure
Nvidia has acquired AI infrastructure software developer Run:ai in a deal worth $700 million.
Under the deal, Run:ai’s software, which currently supports only Nvidia GPUs, will become open source to allow for faster, better AI building and to extend its availability to the entire AI ecosystem.
Run:ai was founded in 2018 and launched its first product in 2020.
Run:ai’s software helps enterprise customers efficiently manage and optimize their compute infrastructure on-premises, in the cloud or across hybrid environments.
Nvidia announced in April it entered a definitive agreement to acquire the Israeli-based software provider startup.
The company faced regulatory challenges regarding competition before announcing the completion of the acquisition.
“We will continue to help our customers to get the most out of their AI Infrastructure and offer the ecosystem maximum flexibility, efficiency and utilization for GPU systems, wherever they are: on-prem, in the cloud through native solutions, or on Nvidia DGX Cloud, co-engineered with leading CSPs,” Run:aiI co-founders Ronen Dar and Omri Geller wrote in a letter to customers on the company’s website.
“True to our open-platform philosophy, as part of Nvidia, we will keep empowering AI teams with the freedom to choose the tools, platforms and frameworks that best suit their needs. We will continue to strengthen our partnerships and work alongside the ecosystem to deliver a wide variety of AI solutions and platform choices.”
