Advanced air mobility (AAM) development company Skway has partnered with an AI-enabled sensing platform company to combine intelligent air traffic management and flying vehicle detection systems.

Skyway and AI company MatrixSpace plan to focus on improving AAM safety, efficiency and scalability.

Skyway said it intends to use the MatrixSpace AI-enabled sensing technology to improve situational awareness in the Skyway systems.

The MatrixSpace radar would enable the detection and classification of airborne and ground-based objects in real-time, allowing the Skyway command center to respond faster.

“Our partnership with MatrixSpace is a game-changer for vertiport operations, bringing an advanced level of detection no one else could provide,” said Clifford Cruz, CEO of Skyway. “Integrating their intelligent radar technology with our vertiport infrastructure will ensure safer, more reliable, and scalable operations for AAM, addressing critical needs in the aerospace and urban air mobility industries.”

Skyway recently partnered with Future Flight Global to develop regional transportation networks to handle commercial eVTOL (electric vertical takeoff and landing) vehicles by 2026.

Skyway focuses on vertiport infrastructure development operations and Future Flight specializes in eVTOL takeoff and landing operations. Skyway systems also deal with tracking drones or uncrewed aerial vehicles.

The companies plan to connect urban hubs and remote communities and plan transportation needs to support special events, such as the upcoming FIFA World Cup and the 2028 Olympics.

Skyway and Future Flight plan to integrate AAM systems into regional transportation networks around the world.

Future Flight also has a partnership with Anra Technologies to develop a digital backbone for advanced air mobility.

The companies are working to create the infrastructure to support and scale electric flying vehicles including eVTOL air taxis, powered lift aircraft, delivery drones and regional aircraft.

The AAM sector is expected to drastically reduce intra-city travel times and enable faster inter-city connections, transforming how people and things move.

Anra Technologies and Future Flight plan to develop a real-time airspace management and mission planning system.

The platform would help autonomous flying vehicles avoid collisions as well as manage airspace congestion and coordinate with vertiports and charging stations.

Anra and Future Flight plan to create pilot programs in urban and regional environments to validate the digital infrastructure and coordinate with regulators for compliance and public safety.

The partnership also aims to engage local communities and showcase the benefits of AAM while addressing issues around noise, airspace usage and environmental impact.
