Around 50 Ipsotek employees to join Atos as part of the deal

French IT and services giant Atos has acquired Ipsotek, a London-based video analytics software provider.

Ipsotek develops multi-camera tracking products used in crowd management, smoke detection, and traffic management. It has previously conducted projects for the London Eye and the Katara Cultural Village in Doha, Qatar.

‘Strategical reinforcement’

Established in 2001, Ipsotek offers a scalable AI-based monitoring and surveillance platform named VISuite.

Ipsotek describes VISuite as enabling users to efficiently manage automatically-generated alerts in real-time, across a range of use cases.

The company has conducted over 600 projects in 38 countries, with around 50 of its professionals joining Atos.

Ipsotek co-founder Boghos Boghossian commented, “We are excited to join forces with Atos and are confident that our combined capabilities offer significant value to our respective clients. We look forward to creating a great success story together.”

The transaction is expected to close in Q2 2021.

Atos already sells modular safety and rescue products; the company says the purchase of Ipsotek will "strategically reinforce" its market position by adding "key software capabilities and IP to its portfolio.”
