Apple is integrating ChatGPT across its platforms with its new AI software, Apple Intelligence, bringing generative AI to the iPhone, iPad and Mac.

The much-anticipated announcement was made during Monday’s keynote at Apple’s Worldwide Developer Conference where Apple CEO Tim Cook said Apple Intelligence will transform what users can do with Apple’s products and what the products can do for their users in this new chapter in Apple innovation.

“Our unique approach combines generative AI with a user’s personal context to deliver truly helpful intelligence,” Cook said. “And it can access that information in a completely private and secure way to help users do the things that matter most to them. This is AI as only Apple can deliver it, and we can’t wait for users to experience what it can do.”

OpenAI and Apple announced their partnership Monday, as the integration of ChatGPT will be seen in several new Apple Intelligence features.

“We're excited to partner with Apple to bring ChatGPT to their users in a new way,” said Sam Altman, OpenAI CEO. “Apple shares our commitment to safety and innovation, and this partnership aligns with OpenAI's mission to make advanced AI accessible to everyone. Together with Apple, we're making it easier for people to benefit from what AI can offer.”

The integration of ChatGPT will be coming to iOS, iPadOS and macOS later this year. It can be accessed for free without creating an account or subscribers can connect their account to access paid features.
