When the Black Eyed Peas take the stage for their new Las Vegas residency in 2025, the band plans to debut a new member powered by AI.

The artificial intelligence presence, named Vida, will be programmed to mirror human experience, Will.i.am told USA Today.

Will.i.am told the publication that Vida is not a hologram and will be integrated into the band’s performances during its Planet Hollywood residency.

“When we have an AI member of the Black Eyed Peas, you can engage and communicate 24/7 … our member of the group will be patched into every band member, stage hands and the audience, if they want to engage with her,” he said.

And Vida will be a full member of the band singing with other members including performing duets.

This isn’t Will.i.am’s first foray into AI.

In August he launched an AI-powered interactive, conversational media platform called RAiDiO.FYI.

The app-based platform hosts radio shows that harness AI to allow listeners to customize content and discover new music, personalize topics, ask questions and talk with AI radio personas.

In April he funded an AI-powered music app that generates songs from texts. The Udio app understands concepts like genre and styles and can even create vocals in different languages.
