Accenture and Amazon Web Services (AWS) have launched a new platform aimed at supporting organizations to adopt and operationalize responsible AI practices.

The new tool powered by AWS will help organizations assess their AI risks and develop mitigation approaches to comply with specific regulations.

For example, it enables firms to integrate responsible AI practices as they build generative AI applications by automating the core elements. It also creates an ongoing cycle of monitoring, testing and remediating for compliance throughout the enterprise.

The new offering, called Accenture Responsible Artificial Intelligence (AI) Platform, is tuned for AWS workloads and can provide a unified view of assets, open-source tools and industry standards relating to responsible AI.

According to Accenture research, only 2% of companies have fully operationalized responsible AI across their organizations. However, with regulations rapidly developing in this area, such as the recently passed EU AI Act, among others, business leaders face new risks and challenges when incorporating the technology.

Accenture said the new platform enables clients to easily understand what they need to do to identify specific AI risks, develop risk mitigation approaches and support compliance with specific fast-changing regulations. This is especially relevant with the accelerated pace of generative AI pilots and technology advancements, the company added.

“Our work with AWS is focused on helping our clients establish and embed responsible AI at scale, closing the gap between principles and action,” said Arnab Chakraborty, chief responsible AI officer at Accenture.

Recent research by the company found that 85% of C-suite leaders surveyed are focused on increasing generative AI investments as most believe it will bring value to their business.

Yet, the majority say adapting to technological advancements is their top “area of concern in 2024." As such, only 14% of organizations are fully integrating AI models into their enterprise.

AWS hopes this new platform will make it easier for its customers to use its portfolio of responsible AI solutions.

“With Accenture, we are empowering more customers to experiment and innovate safely with generative AI,” Vasi Philomin, vice president of generative AI at AWS said.

This latest launch marks an expansion of the two companies’ strategic collaboration.
