Boston Dynamics’ Brendan Schulman on AI-enabled Robot Ethics

Brendan Schulman, vice president of policy and government relations at Boston Dynamics, discusses responsibility in the convergence between robotics and AI.

Schulman talks about Boston Dynamics’ leadership role, including introducing legislation in three U.S. states regarding the weaponization of general-purpose robots.

He also discusses the unintended consequences of introducing robots in the workplace, which can be positive, as in the recent case of a Boston Dynamics robotic police dog that took a bullet during a house raid that could otherwise have injured an officer.
