Adrian Cox, managing director, thematic strategist with Deutsche Bank, talks about his role to inform investors and corporations about the implications of technology for society, and exploring how to use AI within Deutsche Bank research.
He argues that the most important current acronym in tech isn’t LLM, it’s FOMO. Many organizations need to take a step back and decide whether they need AI at all or just predictive AI, which is structured, reliable and explainable compared with generative AI.
Cox says the big challenges in the year ahead for industry are how much small language models take off, the open source versus proprietary model debate and how the multimodal use of AI will fit with new devices.
