AIconics Awards London 2020 open for entries
March 17, 2020
With new categories for achievements in quantum computing
by AI Business 17 March 2020
The AI Summit has launched the European edition of the AIconics Awards, looking to celebrate the best people, teams and organizations working in artificial intelligence.
Fourteen categories are now open for nominations, with the awards ceremony expected to take place during a gala dinner on 1 September at the Kensington Palace in London.
All entries will be evaluated by a panel of 16 independent judges, including representatives of organizations like the Data Science Foundation, GirlHype, XPRIZE and Forbes.
The AIconics began in 2016 as a way to recognize the outstanding achievements of individuals and businesses responsible for harnessing innovations in artificial intelligence and transforming them into incredible products and services.
Last year's awards attracted more than 800 entries from 40 countries, with the winners including UiPath, Rainbird, Darktrace and the Shadow Robot Company.
"During a time of uncertainty and isolation, it is vital that we take some time to recognize genuine innovation coming from the AI enterprise community," said James Tappenden, awards curator.
"The AIconics Awards, now in their fifth year, will have more awards categories, a wider media reach and more industry thought leaders than ever before."
AIconics London 2019
The awards ceremony will be held in the run-up to the AI Summit London, taking place at the ExCeL Center as the flagship AI event of London Tech Week on 2-3 September. The deadline for entries is 17 June.
New categories for AIconics 2020 include the best application of AI in manufacturing - with artificial intelligence considered an essential part of Industry 4.0 - and the best application of AI in telecommunications, recognizing the importance of machine learning tools in delivering increasing levels of bandwidth, and 5G connectivity.
In collaboration with the Quantum Summit, AIconics is also launching two quantum computing awards: for the best quantum hardware breakthrough and the best quantum software solution.
The event will see the return of the popular AI for Good category, aiming to highlight the companies that employ AI as a positive force for change, as well as the innovations in research and product development that work to create a more sustainable and accessible world.
