Microsoft Launches AI-Powered Industrial Copilot at Hannover Messe 2024
Features include natural-language order queries, work summaries, automated emails and direct product manual access
Microsoft has introduced new AI features for manufacturing centered around its Dynamics 365 toolset at this year’s Hannover Messe, taking place April 22-26 in Hanover, Germany.
The company has added AI-enabled Copilot capabilities to its Microsoft Dynamics 365 Field Service that aim to enhance data insights, boost productivity and deliver more customization for field service managers.
Users can use natural language to ask Copilot for information about work orders and drill down into details directly from the Dynamics 365 Field Service web app.
Copilot can generate summaries from lengthy work orders, giving a quick overview of key points of the work to be done. According to Microsoft, it gives organizations control over what data the summaries provide, making them more targeted to individual tasks.
Field service managers can ask Copilot to compose emails including relevant details of scheduled work orders, which can then be edited or further customized using the Dynamics 365 Field Service Outlook add-in.
Copilot can also access information directly from product manuals saving time wading through pages to solve product issues.
AI-Enabled Microsoft Teams Features for Manufacturing
Microsoft has also introduced new features to the Dynamics 365 Field Service plugin for Copilot on its corporate messaging app Teams that enable tasks to be carried out natively.
Managers can use natural language to find information about work orders and Dataverse records from within a Microsoft Teams chat.
Technicians using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Remote Assist mobile could diagnose and resolve issues with remote specialists or collaborators through Teams.
The Field Service app in Teams means users can share links to Dynamics 365 Field Service work orders that automatically expand to provide key details without the need to switch between apps.
Finally, Microsoft has also announced that it is offering Dynamics 365 Field Service customers a preview of mixed reality tools within the Teams mobile app for iOS.
